Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 May 2026
This policy explains how Rank NI ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use this website or get in touch with us. We handle personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Rank NI is the data controller for the data described here.
Who we are
Rank NI is a Belfast-based SEO, web design and Google Business Profile agency serving businesses across Northern Ireland. You can reach us at hello@rankni.co.uk.
To be confirmed before launch: registered legal/company name and address, and ICO registration number if applicable.
What data we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run the site:
- Contact details you give us — your name, email, phone number and the details of your business and enquiry, when you fill in a form, email us, or call.
- Usage data — basic, mostly anonymised information about how the site is used (pages visited, device type, approximate location), collected through analytics to help us improve the site.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and we do not buy or sell personal data.
How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a free audit or quote.
- To deliver and manage our services if you become a client.
- To improve the website and understand how it's used.
- To send you information you've asked for. We won't add you to marketing lists without your consent, and you can opt out at any time.
Our lawful bases
We rely on:
- Consent — for non-essential analytics and any marketing you opt into.
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and run our business, balanced against your rights.
- Contract — to deliver services you've engaged us for.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses only the cookies needed to function, plus optional analytics to understand how the site is used. To be confirmed before launch: the specific analytics provider (for example a privacy-focused, cookieless tool) and a cookie banner if any non-essential cookies are set. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with trusted providers who help us run the business — for example our website host, email provider and analytics tool — and only so they can perform that service for us, under appropriate data-protection terms. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, and client data for as long as we work together plus any period required by law (for example for tax records). We then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- data portability; and
- withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email hello@rankni.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last changed.
This policy is provided in good faith as a plain-English summary and is not legal advice.
